APEX PRODUCT
COMPASS
The platform that runs opening projects end to end — hotels, restaurants, anything with an opening date.
Apex Digital builds software for work that has outgrown spreadsheets and shared drives, but doesn't fit standard enterprise tools. Our own products, COMPASS and Kalai, are what that work runs on.
WHAT WE DO
Our products are for a particular kind of work: operational, repeatable, spread across departments, and complex enough that most organisations end up running it on spreadsheets, email threads and folders full of near-identical files.
Work like that rarely gets a system of its own. It gets tools — and people fill the gaps between them. We build the system instead, and then we keep running it.

CASE STUDY
Since 2021, a thousand hotel openings have run through it — each with its own critical path, its own budget, its own owner, its own handover date, and none of them waiting for the others.
We don't begin with a requirements document. We begin by sitting in the operational meetings, learning how the work actually runs, and finding the parts of it that nobody has ever written down. Most of what we have built exists because we watched it happen, not because someone specified it.
We would rather go deep into one operation than spread thin across many. Depth takes time, and it doesn't end at launch: our first product has been in daily use since 2021 and is still being extended. Work that a department depends on every day is never finished, and we staff for that from the beginning.
Our products are ours. We are not a consultancy that hands over a codebase and moves on, and we are not a vendor that ships a licence and disappears. The people who designed a module are usually the people still answering questions about it three years later.
Both of our products started as a conversation with someone who was about to build another spreadsheet. If that's where you are, write before you do.
